Default s2000 harness adapter

Hey guys... i just got my Alpine CDA-9827 and it looks hot! I can't wait to install that sucker into the S and remove that shitty ass stock headunit. But before I do that, I want to go ahead and purchase the Modifry DCI Alpine IR module so I can retain the dash controls on the left.

Now what I saw on the website was that plus the s2000 harness adapter for $12.00 extra. What is that? Do I need it? There is an option to not select it but what is that for anyway? Is it a module so that I don't have to do all the wiring on my own? If so, let me know because I don't want to do all that wiring since I am no expert on this.

please help guys!!!

It saves you from having to cut into the factory wiring harness. You attach the wires from the back of the HU to the harness and that harness then just plugs directly into the factory harness. You can do all that work before putting the HU into the car, so it's quite a bit easier to hook everything up and doesn't make any permanent changes to the factory wiring harness in case you want to sell the car and put your factory HU back in.
