S2000 Key Removal
Ok not sure if this is just me but this has happened with my 07 before and now is happening again with my 08. Every now and again when i park and turn the car off and remove the key for some reason it senses that the key is still in the ignition and beeps as if the key was still in. I then have to re insert the key and turn it and then turn it back off and remove it again. Anyone else have this problem and/or have a fix?
No real fix... But I can tell you why it's happening.
There is a little metal 'cover' that gets pushed away when you insert your key - the beeping actually senses if this cover is open or not, not if there's a key inserted (although, no key could be inserted w/o it being open).
The metal cover is getting stuck open when you take your key out. I have noticed this and got the beeping too. I just tap the keyhole with my key and the cover closes.

A little lock graphite powder may help the situation. Do not spray it with WD40 or similar. Oils do NOT belong in lock cylinders.
