I have one and I love it. I actually sold the original ScanGuage to a buddy of mine so I could upgrade without hitting the wallet too bad.

In regards to the data add-on, DWynne is right. It's coming soon. I had actually wrote them about it earlier this week (9/21) and this his what they had to say:

"Rob,

The interface still has some software issues that could push its release
into next month.

The interface is a unit with memory and processing power itself. It has a
cable that plugs into the unused connector on the ScanGaugeII and another
that plugs into a USB port on a computer. They don't have to both be plugged
in at the same time.

The interface will use SD Cards for data storage. You can plug it inot the
ScanGauge for logging and for other upload/download tasks. It can be removed
from the vehicle and taken to a computer for data transfers.

The ScanGaugeII has all the hardware needed for the interface, but will need
an upgrade of its program to use it. The Upgrade is free when you purchase
the interface.

Price has not been finalized yet. It is expected to be under $100. This will
also include the software for a windows based computer.

You can purchase morecables for $19.95 each by calling in to 1-888-433-5664.

Ron"

Edit: By the way, the way I mounted it, is that I routed the cable below the radio door and wound up the slack into the passenger netting to the left. From there, I have some of the cable tucked under the radio door's little slots and then plug in the ScanGuage from there. So basically it sits on top inside the door towards me. It doesn't slide around or anything. When I leave the top down and go inside somewhere and I know I'm going to be away for awhile, I just unplug it from the right Rj45 connector and stash it in the lockable compartment or in the gap between the driver seat and door.

I haven't really scrutinized over the demensions of it, but has anyone tried to flush-mount one in the radio door like the set of guages you can buy from that guy who installs 3 of em in there? His stuff looks great, but this seems like a great econo-version if it would fit.

I am planning to buy a scanguage, the canadian distributor is like 20 minutes from me but he said they have TONS of orders and there will be delays. Maybe I'll grab a spare radio door and start playing with my dremmel when I get one

Got any pictures of the install?

I have been just sitting mine on the open radio door, but it does slide around there. I have about decided that is too low for it - it is a long glance down from the road to the radio door. I have my V1 remote display stuck on top of the steeriing column and I am thinking about moving it to one side and putting the SGII on there as well. A lot easier to see and I find that I am looking at it a lot. It the cable were not so large and hard to hide, I might stick it up on the dash above the right vent over the a/c controls. Not stealthy there, but very easy to see.

I have seen some other folks (not on S2000) mount them up and the top of the glass or sun visor area - when lit at night not stealty, but more in the line of sight than down low by the radio - I think.

The digital camera is out of AAA batteries. I'll try and remember and pick up some tomorrow and then send you some photos.

Yes, that is the only connection (and power source).

Just to follow up, ZERO problems from the Scanguage once I set it back to normal speed. I love it!

The miles to empty and MPG are spot on - on my S the "get gas soon" light comes on and when I stop I don't even come close to putting in a full tank. Once I had the SG trained to my car I drove until the light came on, then all the gas bars went out, and kept going. The SG said I had plenty of miles left in the tank. When I finally did stop, the amount I put in was the same as the SG calculated should go it. This is nice, now I can run the tank down lower and not stop so oftern for gas.

I have settled on mph, rpm, mpg, and water temp for the 4 things I keep displayed. The water temp is much more accurate than guess on the number of bars lit up and lets me know then the engine is warmed up enough to rev - or to run the heat, or both.
