Question scratch on HU screen

hey guys well I finally got everything installed and i must say i love it BUT i have a problem. when i was putting in my headunit fussing with all the cables behind it to get it to slide in, i scratched the screen on the threads from where my shift knob would be if I didnt take off the center console! the scratches are somewhat minor. Im just wondering what I can do to repair it.

I have some meguairs plastix if that would work, or I saw some kinda sun glasses scratch stuff on tv maybe something like that thats clear and fills the scratches. Thanks guys

Yes, yes you are. The good news is, it will still work fine and its not such a big deal. You could try some Plastix, I've used similar stuff on my iPods before to some effect.

I would try plasticX, maybe even with a buffer. Next time, take the face plate off when you are installing a headunit.

okay. you dont think that its a possiblity that it could make it any worse could it? I mean its like an abresive polish right? could it make noticable maring with just the polish or is it pretty mild? never used it before.

Depends on how good you are with the polisher. At the very worst, you can always buy a new face.

Then, you might be best leaving it alone.

Honestly, not trying to be an ass, but you might want to consider paying someone to work on your car. Aren't you the guy who sliced into his wiring harness at the fire wall and also punctured the wiring boot in the door?

If you are learning and willing to go through all this, fine. Its up to you but some folks are just not "handy".
