lol nah that was my friend helping me, im the guy that scratched my HU. Im just looking for some advice man. I mean everyone else (not saying you) has made a mistake before, especially trying to learn on how to do something new. It happens. I have considered paying people working on my car, but I would much rather do it myself and know that it was done right. As far as the wiring harness and the boot, its already fixed, and I and my friend now know what not to do next time.

I don't really understand why you are on here if you have never had any questions nor want to put forth an effort, go out of your way, and help someone. honestly. not being an ass. but thats really what fourms are for. If it wasnt the only thread on the whole page would be S2K Talk. Anyway if you have some advice on the problem or your just having a bad day or whatever feel free. I'm not gunna be one of those douch bags that fight with eachother over something stupid on the internet.

If that was your advice to me than that is fine. But I would rather try to fix a problem I created and fail rather than never try at all.

Anyway thanks for the advice guys I'll probably end up trying the plasticx very gently and if it looks like it may make things any worse I'll leave it be. Thanks again

If you are learning and willing to go through all this, fine. Its up to you but some folks are just not "handy".
lol of course I'm willing. People don't just jump into things they know nothing about and get things 100% right the first time every time.

I personally think I did a much better/cleaner install than any shop I would have taken it to and am extremely happy with the outcome.

You could atleast give me the credit for trying and succeeding rather than never trying at all. Installers have a business, they would not provide a service if everyone knew how to do it. Their business would fail. So for me not knowing anything about this stuff going into it with no experience what so ever and coming out with something great and a small scratch on my headunit, I think is pretty good personally. If you don't its fine your not the one who wasted your time and money.

All I'm saying is its messed up man even if you did an install and it was your first one, you messed up, had questions whatever I would try my best to my knowledge to help you out, not put you down for not having the experience for an installation already thats all.

Sure enough under the right light you can see it. If i do decided to use a polish i better look out for the white painted lettering to the right of it. Anyway there she is.

I would try plasticX, maybe even with a buffer. Next time, take the face plate off when you are installing a headunit.
Thats some good stuff also works great on the back window and headlights

B.Money:
I was afraid you might take that the wrong way after I posted it. I posted from work then went home. Maybe I was having a bad day.

Look dude, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend you. It just seemed that you were having quite a bit of difficulty.

Of course I've F'd shit up working on it. Plenty of times. You busted your ass to learn all about this and I have to give you plenty of credit for that.

As far as the scratch on the display goes:
1. Be very careful of the white painted area on the face.
2. If the scratch is very deep, you may not be able to remove it. It might improve the appearance quite a bit though by polishing down the edges of the scratch. Afterward, the scratch filling gel like used on eyeglasses might help out.
3. For the most part, only you will know the scratch is even there.
