i'm anxious to hear how you like a smoother tweeter with the pioneer component set, given how well liked the mid is in the kit.

not to dissuade you from Seas (I have one of their subs in my trunk), but another (perhaps the other) tweeter to consider is the Vifa D26NC05:

I actually looked at those before picking up the SEAS. The two downsides I found were a 30W nominal power handling (I was running 65x4 at the time, 50x4 now) that was not compatible with my build and I didn't like the freq response chart.

Still great tweeters...just not my choice

hmm, that power handling figure does seem a bit low. there seem to be plenty of people over at diymobile using them in well amplified active setups, so not sure. in any case, i don't think going with the Seas would be a bad choice.

NS, what mid are you using with them in your setup?

Nice--you also hate the tweeters. I have the same component set and also love the midbasses but think the tweeters are pretty "meh." Equalization and fine-tuning the crossover has taken off some of the edge, but I knew going into it that they weren't great. I just haven't quite decided if I want to to bite the bullet on upgrading the tweeters yet. I'm also on the fence on upgrading them to the neos vs. waiting for a steal on the excels used.

In my truck, I was using SEAS Prestige 7 1/2's. In my S I run ScanSpeak Rev 5 1/2's (custom fiberglass enclosures for each).

For what it's worth, the Revelators are noticeably more full/easier to tune than the SEAS woofers.

I've been listening to the tweeters I have since I got that component set installed back in June. Enough is enough. I ordered the textile SEAS tweeters last night.

Guys, make sure you epoxy the tinsel leads before installing. Otherwise you'll be swapping them in and out time and again (like I did - on the plus side, Madisound's customer service is top-notch )

Is that just for reinforcement?
