I installed my dsx-s300btx about a week ago and used the honda/acura wire harness from crutchfield and the axxess aswc for the DCI from amazon. Although I had to get two wire harnesses since the axxess aswc needed two extra pins which I pulled from the extra harness I bought and inserted into the harness I was going to use.

Just to note the mute button won't work with the axxess aswc, you'll have to get the modifry DCI if you want that and other goodies.

So i manged to get the deck installed and things are working great, other then the dash controls not work. so now i just need to know if Modifry's wired DCI works with the dsx-s300btx, i would prefer the wired because i dont like the looks of the IR light that sticks out above the head unit, if it doesn't then i think ill do the same as you s2w0w and get the axxess aswc from amazon. (i checked the modifry page and it was a little unclear whether or not this sony worked with the wired setup, i guess they haven't updated the list in a while.) anyway thanks for the help!

Bit late but the Modifry site doesn't have an exhaustive up-to-date compatibility list. Note the following:

http://www.modifry.com/products/dci/...patibility.htm
The Crutchfield web site will give you a list of Alpine, Clarion, JVC, Kenwood, Sony, and Pioneer head units that work with the Wired DCI. The above link does a search for head units that are "steering wheel remote" compatible, which is the feature that allows the Wired DCI to control the head unit.

So I decided to go with the SONY DSX-S300BTX since at $149 is a steal I think. What would I need to not loose the dash controls?

Thanks

Modifry DCI. The wired one.

I have used it with every Sony radio I've had, including the one you just got. I think Modifry's harness will also have the dimmer wire so the display will dim when you turn on the lights.

Where is it selling for $149? I only see the 159 on amazon

Also, will I be able to use Pandora on my iPhone 4s via external usb or bluetooth?
