Default Seeking System / Subwoofer Recommendations

Hey guys, I'd like to run some thoughts by you and see what the experts here have to say.

Current setup:
Eclipse CD8053
MB Quart QSD 216s 6.5\" components
Precision Power (PPI) PCX-2125 (2x125 RMS) Amp - MY03

I really love the sound as it is now. Extraordinarily clean and precise with volume and treble in reserve at all times. I've found the sweet spot on the EQ to attentuate the highs away from harshness and now I just love those MBQs.

My goals are clean, transparent sound, leaning toward the audiophile side of S2000 systems.

Potential additions:
(1 or 2) Elemental Design e8A.44 subwoofers - $145
(1 or 2) WLaurent's 8\" 0.33cf Fiberglass Enclosures - $175 or $330/2
Soundstream TR700/2 amplifier - $275

How does that sound (bad pun)? Would it be possible to only use one channel of the amp (at 350 watts) for a single sub and then add a sceond sub later if I needed more thump? Is there any other equipment that is recommended in additon to or instead of any of these components? I was planning to put the boxes on the left and/or right, relocate my current amp to the left side and mount it vertically to the hood end of the trunk. Then take out the tools (putting them inside the spare tire compartment) and mount the sub amp to the bottom of the tool well. Finally, I'd dynamat the entire trunk.

Do you think that setup will require a capacitor? I was looking at this one, but have never used a capacitor before.

Thanks in advance guys and gals. I'll post pictures when it's gets installed...

tr700 is a hell of an amplifier for the price man. Eventhough I have a JL fetish, I am impressed.

I have heard those 8's have as much bass extension and response as most 10's!

Is this true?

Also, I'm considering an ED 10a in a custom box. Not sure how much power I need to drive it though.

I certainly like my e8a, although I can't claim to have much to compare it against.

By the way, the e8a is now $185. The promo offer is over (although the webpage wasn't updated when I ordered which was slightly annoying).

This amp can be wired into 2 x 175 at 4 ohms. Is that the same thing? I really don't know much about wiring though...

I recall a huge debate about 2 opposing 8" in the trunk....something about "cancelation" or something.

I would go for a good quality 12" DVC and use the 700/2 for it. Something like a Davinci, Eclipse Ti, Phoenix Gold Ti Elite, Brahma, ...etc...
