I just ordered a new coolpix 4500. They list for $700, are commonly discounted to $500 online, and there is currently a $200 rebate direct from Nixon, for a $300 net cost, delivered.

Great price for a 4 megapixel 4x zoom Nikon... Probably not the best choice if you are strictly a point-and-shoot type of photographer, but one of the more controllable and higher quality digital cameras out there.

Placed an order for one this weekend, it went through but just got confirmation from them that the order was cancelled. Did your order go through?

 

Mine is in transit with UPS from Marine Park photo...

There are other dealers out there with similar deals, maybe a few dollars more. Go to cnet.com and search for nikon coolpix, then check prices.

Do make sure, however, that you are buying from an authorized nikon dealer. Otherwise, I'm not sure if you are eligible for the rebate.
