shot in the dark... defroster switch wire diagram?

Are you saying you were able to use an 02 switch in an 01 dash or you had to repace the entire dash and wire harness with an 02?
wondering what would happen if I went from that 5 pin to 6 pin connector and routed it to the 01 knock out in the dash with an 02 switch.
