Default Sirius

Just got a Sirius Starmate Replay satellite radio, and I am gonna put it in my car tomorrow, I was just wondering if anyone else has this and if they had any input as far as putting it on like complications/how they put it on? Thanks for any help/input.

Here's a link to my Sportster review. The Starmate is smaller, and appears that it would fit in the center "sliding" compartment.

If I did it again, I would probably look at units without the replay feature. I've only used it once in about 3 months of ownership intentionally. I've accidently hit it a couple of times. Why not save a few bucks?

I'm very pleased with SIRIUS. This includes both content and reception. Let eveyone know how it turns out!

I had the starmate in my S2000 for a night, and if I put down by the radio, near the compartment it would tend to get real staticy.

I had to put it by the windshield again for it to be clear.

Yeah, I have the antenna for my sirius (alpine unit) up on the dash under the windsheild and get perfect reception there

I'll venture there can be some other factors involved with the Starmate Replay and Antennae

1. Terrain. Hilly areas or concrete jungles.
2. Quality of the FM transmitter. I've been pleased with the Sporster Replay. Best FM T I've used ever.
3. Competing stations for the transmitter.

If the antennae dash/windshield works, that's great. My preference is the secret compartment. I've had good reception there. Just another option...

I tried putting my antenna on inside the cab under the windshield of my frontier and I got crappy reception, so I put it on the roof like the recomend.

couple questions;

i've had the antenna both outside and inside the car and still can't seem to get three bars, but outside is stronger than inside. has anyone done an install with the antenna outside? if so, how did you run the wire out?

also, i've had to turn my volume up to full (stock radio) to here it when driving in excess of 55 mph. anyone else have volume issues? I've placed the tuner in a variety of places and it doesn't seem to change this problem.

...Got the same question, also how did you wire it up when you put it inside the car(where did you put the antenna wire and the battery wire(that goes in the lighter hole) so that they are not in the way?
