Sirius satelite antenna installation
I am having sirius installed tonight. I need advise on mointing the antenna.
I know some owners have placed it out of site in the hidden compartment. Does this work with the compartment closed? Does it work with the top up?
What are some other options for mounting this out of site but having it work with the top up or down?
If I have to mount it on the body, I assume I should put it by the radio antenna.
Thanks,
Ken

The pix with the OEM setup (which is really a dealer installed accessory.) is in the middle of the trunk lid. This looks kinda crappy.
I didn't think you could put it under any metal body panels, but I have seen some people mount it magnetically to the underside of the trunk lid.
I have also seen it installed in the secret compartment. It should work through the plastic. With the top up, it may be a little less sensitive, but should not be a big deal.

best place is UNDERSIDE of the trunk lid.....antenna's need a grounding plane, and the trunk is as good a place as any. However, do not put it in the triangle areas of the underside..(you will see what i mean when you look at it) Mount it on the trunk lid beams.....youll get good reception and it wont look like an afterthought.
