Default so something bad happened

here's the story. my mom was having some problems with her car charger for her phone working right. we plugged it into my car to see if it was her lighter plug or the charger itself that broke. well as soon as i plugged it in there was an audiable pop and then the stereo cut out. i am now unable to get it to turn back on. i checked/replaced the fuse to no avail. the small red secutiry light still flashes but the face will not turn on, it won't even ask for a security code. oddly enough this is the first oem stereo i'v ever dealt with. does anyone know if there is an additional fuse on the back of the radio? i recollect having one on my kenwood deck on my jetta. any help at all will be appreciated. the car is still warrentied so i may take it to the stealership or i may use this as an oppertunity to upgrade the face, even though i am saving up for sw388's

Check ALL your fuses. Yes, there is more than one that operates the radio. Do a search in the Electronics section. This has come up before. Sorry I can't give more specific help but I've got to bolt and won't be back till Sunday.

Believe it!! There is more than one fuse for the radio (obviously one of them also covers the accessory outlet (lighter outlet)).
