soldering wires?
is soldering the wire more efficient vs. crimping the wires together and putting electrical tape over them. i know that method is not very well taken in vs. the soldering methoc but i was wondering if there were actually efficiency differences between the 2 methods. as in sound quality, power transfer, etc? thanks

Soldering offers a more solid connection, but sometimes it's difficult or near impossible to solder a connection if it's in a tight space. You will never be able to hear a sonic difference between the two...even the self-proclaimed audiophiles who swear they can with their "golden ears" are proclaimed by everyone else to be full of BS.
Soldered connections are less likely to come apart with physical stress and less likey to corrode over time, but for all parctical purposes (life of your car etc) a crimp connector is just as good. Think about this - what does the phone company use to splice wires? Solder?? No way - everything they do is with crimp connectors. If you use the right connector and a good crimp tool you won't have any problems.
Personally, I usually do solder connections simply because it's smaller. When you get a dozen crimp connectors in a bundle it makes a pretty big wad, and you can solder and heatshrink without getting much fatter that the original wire.

. Most amateurs (me) have a hard time getting even temp through ALL the wires. This is needed for proper flow and placement of the solder.

I did solder the connections for my new Hu into the car harness, no addaptor as I was concerend about room. Heat shurnk tubing onto the wires but I have had considerable experience soldering wiring.

but yes, soldering is a better connection.
