Sound System Upgrade
Hello all, basically I'm looking for a more powerful system in my AP2, optimally a full upgrade (door speakers, headunit, amp, and 10 or 12 inch sub in the trunk).
I'm still trying to conceptualize the whole thing in my head before i do it but I'm wondering about some details.
First off, I want a good quality but cheap $100-200 headunit that is iPod/external input compatible.
I'm not worried about the door speakers, I'll just get good quality kenwoods or whatever.
And as for the sub, I'm not really sure...if a 10 inch will give enough bass that will be fine, but otherwise a 12 inch. Let me know what the deal is in your experience. I'm not really familiar with the enclosures people put in S2K's but I'm considering a side-mounted trunk enclosure if someone makes them specifically for the S2K. Otherwise, a small standard enclosure will do (but eat up most of my trunk )
Also, amp mounting locations? The trunk is fine if there is a low-profile way to do it, but I'd rather have it under a seat or somewhere else. I'd rather keep my spare tire, so that's not an option for anything system-related.
Basically, I'm just wondering what tips and hints people who have done upgrades have for someone who is new to the process. Thanks in advance!
