Hey guys so i have this issue with my passenger door speaker. Abit of info on the car, its an 00 with after market tweeters, stock door speakers and subcables with no sub or amp and standard head unit. So anyway sometimes when i play a cd all speakers are working but then my passanger speaker would just cut out, i turn off the radio for afew seconds and turn it back on and the sound would come back on all speakers then kick out again! On the same speaker only. Also it works 100% fine when i play radio. i have removed both door speakers and removed them and had a quick looksy's but still the problem persists! And i have no idea why. any ideas?

 

Sounds to me like it is a problem with the headunit, not the speaker, as
the speaker and wiring wouldn't know or care whether the source was a CD
or the radio.

 

I suspect your after market tweeters. When were they installed?

Not to familiar with the stock amp in headunit but if there is a short, the hu could be shutting off to protect itself...
