Speaker wire colour in a 2005 S2K
I'm currently installing some new Apline SPS-170As in my doors are just want to remove the OEM ones and install these ones, the problems lies within the OEM connector block, you see the wires coming into the block and connecting to the speakers are not market up - and +, thus I'm unable to guarantee that I'm connecting the polarity up correctly. Any help would be great...
I'm looking for someone to come forward and be able to say ...
Green with a black line is - and blue with a grey line is +, I know these are not the colours but just for an idea.
Cheers

I'm in the UK, I'm sure the wiring will be fairly similar.

If you assume the factory wiring is correctly polarized you can cheat and determine this for yourself, on any car.
Get a 1.5v battery (AA, C-cell, whatever) and disconnect the stock speaker from the car's wiring harness. Connect the battery to the speaker terminals and observe which way the cone moves - either outward (away from the magnet) or inward (towards the magnet). If it moves out, the battery positive (+) terminal is connected to the speaker positive. If it moves in, the battery is reversed - battery positive is connected to speaker negative.
Once you know the speaker polarity you can easily look at the connector and see which wire connects to which speaker terminal, and that will tell you which wire is positive and negative.

Very nicely documented in the Helms manual for S2000s along with just about every other detail in the car.

I don't need to check the speaker polarity, I need to know what polarity the wires are, this can't be checked using your battery method

thanks for the info though.
