Help me out guys,
I know this question has been played out but from reading all the post, my sentiment is that the Infiniti Kappas and Sonys are they way to go.
I can see the quality of the Infiniti but the Sony?
Anyways, has anyone looked at MBQuarts? I can't decide which one I should get Infiniti or MBs?
Now regarding amps. I was thinking of 50x2 with either one of those speakers.
Recommendations, thoughts, suggestions.
Thanks!
- Mark

Went onto Crutchfield and found the following high quality speakers and amps. Let me know what you think:
Speakers:
Sony ES XS-V1655G
Kenwood eXcelon KFC-XR600
Kenwood eXcelon KFC-X167dB
Infinity Kappa 63.1i
Infinity Kappa 62.1i
Amps:
Damn there is too many...Rockford, MTX, the list goes on. I need help here.

i'd suggest you use the search function on this board - you'll find STACKS of feedback on this exact topic. should save you a lot of time. in general, searching will get you lots more data a lot quicker than asking a question (of course, there are exceptions).
some examples (i did a quick search on 'speakers' to get these):
- a poll on which speakers to buy,
- general speaker recommendations.

Mark,
MB Quarts might be in a higher class that the Infinities... typically a good rule of thumb is <generally> speakers in the same price range have similar build/sound qualities.
Can you find these speakers mounted somewhere so you can listen to them? Pick the one that sounds best to you...

Mark,
Like malachi said, do a search. One thing you might want to remember with speakers like the Quart's...you may pay $400/pair, but unless you're showing the car, all that quality is going to be lost to raod noise...it IS a convertible.
See me webpage for install info...

I don't believe the MB Quarts run as high as 400, maybe around the 250-300 range from what I've priced out. Are they worth it? No idea.
I know gregstevens has some, so ask him what he thinks!

Yea, I have the MB's and they ran me about 325?
I put them in the doors and I think they look/sound great...but shortly after I put them in, the stereo became a low priority, so I have the stock head unit, no amp. I usually don't have the stereo on anyway. But I may do Pinky's mod with a more powerful head unit this season. We'll see...
They definitely are power-hungry...they are certainly an improvement over those shit speakers that were in there before, but they do need more power than I am supplying them now.

I have the MB Quart PSC-216 Referenz series separates. They are mated to an alpine head unit and a precision power 2 channel amp running into two ohms. Frankly the Quarts are the best speakers on the market (IMHO). But the previous poster is right, you need the right power driving them.
Hope this helps.

itsjustme...
You say the MB Quarts are the best speakers on the market just by using/owning the Referenz series? Have you heard the Q-Series? Now THEY are phenomenal... except they only come in a two-way (that's why I purchased Dynaudios)...
