Default SpeedZones test is up!

If you want a little help in trying to figure out which radar detector to buy, the notorious detector faceoff at www.speedzones.com is finally up. It's also pretty long so get ready to do a bit of reading!

It just made my decision harder, but it might make yours easier!

I personally like both detectors (V1 and P8500). However, I need to beat a dead horse again as I read over the www.escortstore.com website using RADARTEST's data. I have a serious problem with the following qoute;

""It ferreted out the lethal digital Ka-band radar
gun at 40,222 feet...fully 3.2 miles before the
Valentine One." - www.radartest.com"

40,222ft /5280ft= 7.62 MILES!!!!! BULL$&!T

If this unit is as sensitive as they stated, then in a common metro area with all the other POS Ka-Band signal poluting detectors, this unit would never stop going off.

I wonder what the value would be of detecting radar 7 miles away?

Luckily just because www.radartest.com says it, it ain't necessarily so.

I'd still consider the Passport 8500, just so they didn't make it detect Ka at 20 or 40 or 1,000 miles.
