MDF for the top, fiberglass on the bottom, fully removeable.
.51 cu. ft of space, just in the lower lower section where the cover to the tool kit is.

The wood you see is a exact trace of that cover.

sub box enclosure look extremely small what kind of speaker are you putting it in?

did you measure the air space?

most speaker will need 1 cubic feet of air space to play right.
