Default Steering wheel controls interface

I'm getting a new HU and would very much like to keep the controls next to the steering wheel.
To do that, most audio install shops talk about the Axxess ASWC interface .

I also heard about the modifry DCI.

Anyone knows the difference between the 2 and which would work better ? Or is there anything else to consider ?

I wouldn't be surprised if a shop is pushing a product because they sell it, not because it is better.

if you do a forum search on "modifry dci vs" you'll find lots of info comparing the
Modifry DCI to the one made by PAC, which I imagine is quite similar to the Axxess one.
Here's a link to Modifry's comparison.

Modifry is a very popular unit and comes highly recommended. A friend of mine has an audio install shop and I used an Axxess unit at his recommendation. All of the dash controls work and I have had no issues whatsoever.

I have read about some issues with the PAC unit, but the Axxess unit has worked out fine for me.

Most programed steering wheel controls(PAC,Axxess, etc)can have a delay so when you are trying to raise the volume you'll end up holding the volume up button to long and then it's very loud before you know it. Go modifry.

I use the modifry dci for my alpine Ida-x303 and it works great, only thing is since I installed the kce-400bt Bluetooth module, the mute doesn't mute it 100% because it's spliced into the mute wire, but it doesn't bother me. I highly recommend the modifry

There was another topic where the guy purchased an ASWC as well as the Modifry DCI.

My question is don't these 2 devices provide the same function, more or less? I buy one or the either, not both right?

Yes -- both are SWI's.

If it's this thread:
https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/879...n-doesnt-work/

...then the OP might have actually meant harness when he said harness unlike most people who mean "DCI".
