Hello fellow S2Ks,

I will probably purchase a S2K soon and had a few questions concerning installing aftermarket stereo systems in the car.

I use to have a highly modded BMW 3 series which I've removed the entire stereo system in hopes that most of the components will transfer over. My immediate question after looking at the dash is that there doesn't seem to be too much room in the factory head unit location. Is it possible to install 1-din units with a slide out screen to fit in that location? I have yet to see anyone do it, so I am fearing the worst. Also, what are the factory speaker sizes? Thanks to all in advance for your help and hopefully I will soon be rolling in a S2K!

 

From what I knoiw, the slide out models will hit the shifter, and even if you manageto get it to slide out, when you raise the screen, it will hit the dash because it overhangs, causing it to be angled down toward the console.
