fly the flag my friend...fly it high!!

Ok, my personal opinion--> I wouldnt use a cap if it was given to me. There are some out there that are better than others, but wont do half of what an upgraded alternator would do for not all that much more, depending on what kind of deal you can get.

His situation, he doesnt need a cap, he needs an alternator and battery replacement.

And you can read about what the equivelant series resistance and inductance are on your own time. Those two coupled with the many other parameters of measurement and the freakin math involved, is not what I would call enjoyable to explain.

You'll find he's like that Dan... He's the latest 'know it all' to join the club. Do a search and read some of his other post around the board.

He doesn't need an alternator either. Just a good Yellow top will do just fine.

I'll save you the breath, as there's no need to explain those terms, any other parameters of caps, nor the freakin' math involved. I'm intimately familiar with all of the above, and I'm not speaking from a "I read about the term on Wikipedia", I'm speaking from a "There's a good chance one of my subcircuit designs is running in your amplifier right now" point of view.

As John pointed out, this is one engineer you're going to have a very hard time blowing smoke up his ass. I love how (in typical troll fashion, I might add) you take my simple question of "Do you truly understand the terms you're using?" into a statement of "I do, but I dont have the time to explain it to you."

You've been here a whopping 10 days, and already I note you're calling the research and experience of a number of board members into question, as well as calling Josh unprofessional (see the thread in S2000 Talk of Josh finally getting his lemon car situation settled) after plainly admitting to not reading the majority of his 25+ page thread on the matter. How utterly convenient for you to continually jump to so many conclusions while singlehandedly disregarding theory, fact, and the experience of others. Almost impressive in its scope... almost.

Then why seek answers to questions you already know?

Im not blowing smoke up anyones cornhole...Im being as honest as I can be.

If you want to run a cap, have at it...the original post asked for opinions and advice, hence the ..."feel free to chime in" part.

Spending a little more $$ on an alternator is what I would suggest, and I did.

So, riddle me this batman...

How does my 'didnt read every post' in the lemon thread turn into 'didnt read the majority of posts' in the same thread?

First of all the thread is no where near 25+ pages long as you incorrectly state, did you even read it mr engineer? Its only 15 pages long and has appx. 350+ posts. I read every post up until page 12, where I then started only reading the thread starters posts.

and yes...he still 'should' have handled it differently, in my opinion...yet you keep saying my opinion is wrong. How exactly is someones opinion wrong?

Your making a huge deal out of nothing. If someone other than yourself has ideas and opinions different than yours, and that bothers you to the point where you retaliate with pointless posts, maybe you should sever all communication with society; as I can see someone like that being pissed off all the time.

Actually 'shifty' it just depends on how you have your system view set up. You can have it set up to have less posts on one page or more in a different setup. Good call

Once again get your facts straight boy. Oh and why don't you go ahead and read the rest of it now. Oh wait you already know everything, so nevermind.

I'm still waiting for those high-quality definitions and explanations of ESR and ESL. shift sells audio equipment, so he should be able to dazzle us with some of his marketing speak. Our ears are burning with excitement, don't keep us on the edge of our seats, oh enlightened one...

A number of us here know a lot, but we don't know everything. The difference is, we don't act like we know something and then fail to back it up.

We're still waiting...
