Default Stock HU wiring diagram

I'm about to install an amp to my stock HU, but I need to know the wiring diagram for the stock Honda HU for a 2002. I think I can figure out the speakers, but I need to know where to tap the remote turn on for the amp. I'm sure someone has the legend as to what color wire is what, but I searched and searched and couldn't find it. Please help, thanks.

PM me your email and I will send you a file I have that is basically the Honda Repair Manual. That should have exactly what you are looking for, plus more helpful info for the future.

Thanks a lot guys, this is exactly what I am looking for. Another question now, since I can't tell for sure. If I were to tap in the remote turn on for the amp, which wire should I tap? I was thinking #1 or power antenna. Since our cars don't have a power antenna, but I figure that wire shouldn't get power unless the stereo is on. I didn't want the amp to be on unless the stereo is on. Thanks again.

our cars do have a power antenna. that little antenna stub really isn't strong enough to pull in channels, so it's an amplified antenna.

i'm honestly not sure if the power antenna is 'on' though when the CD is being used. so, i'm not sure if you can use that anyway...

what amp is it? many amps with speaker inputs will 'sense' a turn on signal and power up...

It's a old soundstream usa 100. I know aftermarket decks have a remote turn on, so I knew to hook it up to that. But the stock has no such thing. I'm pretty sure it doesn't have speaker inputs that will sense something and turn on. I guess I could test to see if the antenna amp is on when the radio is on. Any help would be appreciated.

I do not know too much about the stock HU, but I would think there would be 2 power wires....one to be "constantly" on to keep presets intact, and one that will actually turn the unit "on" when the power button is flipped. You could also just power it off the ignition....dunno if this is smart, though.

hrm... not sure. i'll have to do some looking, but that won't happen today.

my fear is that the power antenna is powered ONLY when the radio is on... when switching to CD, i think it shuts off. i'm not sure on this one.

if nothing else, tying it into the ignition is a workable, if not optimal solution.

I checked out the wiring for the stock HU (thanks again John) and there's a ACC (Main stereo power supply #2 wire WHT/RED) that looks like what I'm looking for. It's connected to the Accessory power socket relay that turns on when the car is turned to ACC or started. It looks like the switch is off when the car is not in ACC. This wire tells the stereo to turn on.

I'm not 100% sure though, as I'm reading a circuit diagram. But I've got a friend who's a EE, so I'll get him to take a look at the diagram and confirm. But I think this is the one. I just need to know if there are any cons on using this wire.

There's also a Constant Power wire (#10 WHT/BLU), but I don't think I want this one. This one probably keeps the stereo presets saved and is on all the time.

I got the power for my amp tapped into the ignition in the fuse box under the hood. Amp turns on when the car is on, and it is easy to get to. Here is a pic:

[EDIT] Damn....those photos are small....sorry.

Remote turn on I just tapped into the power supply for the HU.
