Thanks! I also talked to my friend, he looked at the wire diagram and said ACC wire is the way to go. I'll just use one of them tapping connectoers that put a slit in the wire so I don't have to cut anything. Thanks for all your help guys.

rocket.... you don't have to splice into the radio wiring to get that accessory turn on... there's a wire connector in the interior fuse box that many use for radar detectors (photos of it are linked in the FAQ). you can use that and not have to break insulation anywhere.

oh dang dood, thanks for the tip! I found the picture, have to go home and look at the fuse box to get my bearings. now the speaker wires, i need to splice them to hook them up to the line level converter. any tips on that? or just splice them? i was gonna take the ends of the speaker wires, but that looks like a lot of unnecessary wiring manipulation when i can just get to the heart of it at the deck. but i will definitely use the power connection in the fuse box!

hrm.... aside from pulling OEM pins out of the harness and inserting new pins -- i can't think of a way where you can avoid cutting the OEM wiring and coming off of it...

doh. didn't think about that...
