Default Stock radio with amp and seperates...

Right now I have a stock radio with an amp powering my seperates. If I upgraded the deck will I notice a difference in sound quality?

I know the stock HU stinks, but being that I have it connected to an amp, will replacing the stock HU make a difference?

Thanks....

i don't know - my system will rival most out there and i am running the stock head unit

I would say a lot depends on your amps and the amount of power you are pushing

I've got two amps running my frts / rears and 12 inch JL

Youd be surprised how much better it would sound with a good new headunit.

garbage in ---> garbage out.

Aftermarket HU's make a world of difference in an s2k, especially in s2ks made before 2004. The 2004/05 HU is a nominal improvement, however, it should be replaced if you seek to enjoy good sound quality.

you can control so much more precisely with after market radio.
i would definately recommend changing to alpine.

if my dad sold alpine i wouldve got alpine radio instead of pioneer.

Some measurements would be great. If they show a big difference, some of us who've been thinking about an aftermarket HU might finally decide to go for it. If they don't, then that would be good to know as well.
