stock speaker polarity?

Default stock speaker polarity?

im installing components and i dont have a speaker harness so i just cut the the connecter off...is the green wire positive and the gray wire negative? or the other way around?

You can easily test it out if you like...use a battery and some scrap wire. Basically, you're going to hook the battery straight to the speaker terminals. I would connect the (-) end of the battery to the speaker first, and then tap the + wire to the speaker a couple of times to gauge movement. When you connect the + terminal of the battery to the + terminal on the speaker, the cone will move outward. If it moves in, you've found the (-) terminal instead. Be advised.... speakers don't like DC loads, so just tap, don't leave it hooked up this way or you could damage the speaker.

if the wires keep their colors all the way from the radio harness, they are:
Right Front Speaker + Green/Black
Right Front Speaker - Light Green
Left Front Speaker + Green/Yellow
Left Front Speaker - Gray/Red
if they don't, and both doors are green and gray, seems like a good
bet is green + and gray -.
in any event, what matters is that left and right are wired the same way.
