Thanks!

Grab the open door and start wiggling and pulling. Once the lower corners come loose, you can carefully pull the sides to free the clips as you go up. Once you get to the top, the whole thing with vents and all must be wiggled and pulled downward and back. Now you will see the screws that must be removed to pull the HU out.

Watch this post for FULL removal and install pics of my KDAVX1 deck this weekend. Gonna follow up later with the dash control adapter install, as well.

I kinda disagree with needing to use any tools to remove the front door from the radio. If you just grab the door when its fully open and pull straight back the bottom will pop off.. then just wiggle it back and forth while still pulling the rest of it will pop right out.

It sounds hard but its really easy. I can one off in about 15 sec tops... and that's a new one.

Make sure you put the car in either 2nd, 4th, 6th or rev. to make your life easier.

If your going to do a how-to please start a thread with just that in it, because if its really good it will get added to the FAQ thread at the top of this page.

We have this one from Lucids website: Stock radio removal

Ok. Will do. Watch this thread for a link. And I agree. No tools to remove the cover. Too much risk of damaging or scratching it. Just a gentle, careful pull, tug, and wiggle.
