Default Stop horn from sounding when alarm is set?

When I come home late I can't park in the garage because the noise will sometimes wake the baby. So every once in a while I will park in the driveway......but even setting the alarm will sometimes wake the baby if the windows are open.

Does anyone know how to make it so that when you turn on or turn off the factory alarm system that it ONLY flashes the lights and does not honk the horn to let you know that the system has engaged.

Thanks for the help!

I thought I had an answer for you, but actually I think it's more of a question for all... When you only hit the lock button once, the lights flash but the horn doesn't honk.. I assumed that doing this was the same as hitting it twice, but without the horn to let you know it set.. If you only hit lock once, does the alarm not activate?

I know that's true for the keyless remote entry, but not so sure for the OEM alarm

That is how mine is, the horn doesn't go off but the alarm is set. Bought my car ysed and that is how the previous owner had it set-up. It is an '00 and I am pretty sure you can turn the horn off and on with just the remote. Check the manual but yes it can be done.

Additionally my alarm will set itself if left alone for about a minute or so, does everyone elses do that?

I have an '03 Acura TL that comes standard with an alarm. It should be the same as the OEM alarm in the S2000.

In the TL, the manual states that you only need to press the lock button ONCE to activate both the door locks and the alarm. The button does not need to be pressed twice to arm the alarm.

If you want to test this, leave the top down or windows open, press the lock button once, then reach in, unlock the doors and open them up. If the horn goes off then you know you only need to press it once. Be prepared to press the unlock button right away so the alarm doesn't keep going off!

Notably in the TL, pressing the lock button a second time causes the car to beep instead of honking the horn. It keeps beeping if you keep pressing it too ...

- it works like this:
press LOCK button ONCE and it beeps/honks (annoying)
press UNLOCK ONCE and it beeps/honks (annoying)

- It is NOT setup like 'other' cars where you have to press the button TWICE to hear something... wish it was though and this is what we're looking for...
