I think i will stick to my JL12W6's. They only need a minimum of .75 cubic foot of air space.

I'll try to explain, if you can bear with my lack of proper terms/names for stuff. :-) The bigger piece (the tub) is secured in 10 points:

* 2 nut/bolts (can be removed from the trunk)

* 4 black plugs that have to be removed from within the car by pushing in their middle part with a screwdriver or something and then just taking pulling them out. At first i was trying to pull the centers out but it's much more difficult that way, just push them in and out they pop.

* 4 white plug like things towards the rear of the tub. Just squeez on them from the trunk and they'll be disconnected from the trunk. They'll stay connected to the tub, though

The other piece of plastic is secured in 3 points using the same kind of black plugs as the tub. Just push in the center and pop them out.

All set!

Any more questions, let me know.

:-)

No problem, well i found 4 white clip-type things I just squeezed them with pliers and then pushed the "tub" up and it dislodged from that half but was still attached on the other end and can't figure out how to get the tub out of the trunk.

Go for 2 10's

I had a single 10w6 and it wasn't enough bass. My highs & mids (Focal 165k2's) took over the sound.

I have Diamond Audio components in front and a drop in sub that the shop had from a previous S2000 and gave it to me for free. I can't hear any bass and I'm planning to go with a 12. I'm trying to save 'till I can do a custom trunk. Definitely need more bass

Alright guys -- I have some pics from my sound system install today and here they are! The install's not yet done, but I'll post final pics later tonight! Please let me know if the pics aren't working.

10" AVI SL-S sub. Complete ceramic cone with carbon fiber center cap!

Custom ported box:

The back of the convertible "tub/panel" after venting holes were cut throughout the piece. Notice that the piece is now covered with black grill cloth to allow maximum bass to vent into the cabin while protecting our rear windows. My installer shied away from few big holes since this would compromise the integrity of the overall piece and may result in rattling since the piece would be significantly weaker. Hence the numerous small holes...

Here's a front view:

Let me know what you guys think! I haven't posted the amp and cd-changer mount pics, but will definitely once the entire setup is complete!

Nice job! I like that shelf with the grill cloth over it. Now you don't need a mat or carpet on that shelf to protect the plastic window from scratches. Can't wait to see the rest of the pictures.
