Sub question
OK so I am an admitted newbie but have done a pretty good job putting a system together based on what I have researched.
The system is a 9857, Kappa perfects in the doors, Kenwood Excelons(5 1/4) behind the seats, a JL 8w3 in a Wlaurent box in the trunk. A JL 300/4 powers the cabin speakers and a 250/1 powers the sub.
I have been trying to tune it in so there is less fiddling involved everytime the songs change.
I tried something initially, the sub and 250/1 came from a guy that had it custom installed in a Touareg. The box was pretty small but appeared to be similar volume to the Wlaurent box. There was alot of fill in the box with the sub so I decided to try it in the wlaurent box as well.
What I noticed is that with the fill the sub seemed to hit harder, but seemed to overwork in some areas. Without the fill it seems like I have a cleaner range of sound from the sub, but not the same hit.
Does this make sense?
