Subwoofer behind driver seat?
MC,
The bass shakers work by...well, shaking something. If you mount them to the floor you won't feel too much, and I don't believe there's enough room to mount them underneath the seat (I could be wrong here...mine come in Wednesday). I suppose the only real option is the lower back of the seat...I'll experiment some when they come in. g-s2k has some installed in his car, so ask him where he placed his...maybe he played with positioning, or just slapped where he first saw a space, who knows, never asked him.

Hi everyone!
Well, YES I do have the Aura Bass Shakers in my car. I recently did a full audio install and added the Bass Shakers to my system. I originally wanted to install a subwoofer under the driver and passenger seats, but space is very very tight under the seats. Plus I installed my 6-disk changer underneath my drivers side seat, so that reduced the area for a sub even more. I placed my Bass Shakers in the back pockets of the seats, up near the top portion of the pockets. Any lower, I was restricted of how far I could push my seat back, and how far the seats to be angled back. I am a short person (5'6"-5'7") so I don't have to push my seat all the way back. Installing the shakers under the chair towards the rear of the seat was impossible. There was a space of maybe a

Just to be more specific. The shakers that g-s2k has are the regular shakers. I will be putting in my car the PRO series shakers.(read more powerful) One will go under each seat mounted properly!(read directly to metal in the floor). I will be doing the install next week on Sunday and most likely will continue on to the following Sunday but WILL be done before S2Kdays.
I need some good tunes for the ride down!

Glenn: You manage to fit a whole golf cart in your trunk?! Holy cow, what is that thing, the Tardis, or something?!!
Jim: Do you mean you're going to attack the shakers to the metal bottom of the seat, or the metal floor of the car? The seat (if it will fit) sounds great, but I'm wary of them being attached to the floor without hearing/feeling a set done in that manner first. As I mentioned in the previous post, these puppies work by shaking something, mainly your seat. You may lose all of that extra power by attaching them to a solid object, like the floor...of course, if you attach them to the seat you may end up vibrating it apart
I'll be curious to test them out if you attach them to the floor and how they feel (especially curious as to WHERE on the floor you can fit them
)

Pinky,
This is just one of those things that seems to go against common sense, but if you've seen them work that way, I have no other reason to doubt you. It just doesn't feel right (no pun intended), but if they work better that way, I'll be more than happy to mount mine the same way. I don't doubt your expertise, it's just that sometimes things don't strike me as logical, and this was one of them. Install them that way and make me a believer

I know....its one of those real world vs. theory things. Just so you know if you do mount these things......your gonna have to drill into your car!!!! LOL. Your gonna have to puncture Michelle.
Well your going down to S2Kdays right?! Or is it to far. I will have the shakers done next week and will show them off then.
Believe me I didnt think it was real till I actually felt them. Thing you need to keep in mind is that BASS has an omni presence(everywhere) The only way to get an everywhere bass is to shake the whole car which real bass does. By mounting the shakers right under the seats the 4 bolts will carry the shock waves like an earth quake does up to your ACE and back and feet. Getting less and less the farther out you go. Personally I would like to put 2 under my seat but they just wont fit!
Guess proof is in the pudding. I gotta do it and let you feel what its like. Along with anybody else!

Pinky,
You're absolutely right...sometimes theory just fails to explain reality, that's why I try to keep an open mind about these type of setups, especially when I don't have any directexperience with a particular type (bass shakers are WAY new to me). But ACK!!!, I didn't think about puncturing my little girl to install them! I'll have to think of potential ways to install them without drilling into her skin (I would be ok with puncturing the seat backs...those are easily replaced).
Being the stubborn ass that I am, I'll stick to my preconceptions until proven otherwise
I think of it this way...what's easier to shake with a tiny little motor, a whole car frame, or a light plastic seat? In theory, the seat sounds like the better choice, but feel free to prove me wrong. I have hope since you realize the shaking gets less intense the further from the seat you mount it (that theory IS reality
)...your setup may turn out to be close to Glenn's setup because you're using stronger motors, but attaching it to the frame instead. Gimme some pudding...er, proof...and then I'll sing the praises of frame-mounted shakers.
Don't think I'm heading to S2kDays...I cannot afford the time off right now, although I REALLY REALLY REALLY wish I could. Disregarding short weekend rides, much of my time is still taken up by my thesis and research.
Oh, as a side note...Amber has been back in touch with me...I'll have to look for friends for you this time
