Temp Guage --- anyone know what the numbers are?
I'm thinking of having numbers painted on my instrument cluster to correspond with the different positions of the temperature guage. Anyone have a clue what the different temps are for each bar?
Quite right. I have a "proper" temp gauge and I seem to recall that bar #3 lights up at around 140 something and it has gone as high as over 220 on the same bar. The stock "bars" are only an indicator - not much use for anything else.
No VTEC under 2 bars? Sounds like a good rule of thumb -- I wonder what the notches map to for temp
Xviper -- with your temp guage have you ever noticed what the engine temp is when it goes from 1 bar to 2, or from 2 to 3? That could be valuable info ...
(I really gotta get my carputer going ....)

Bar #2 lights up at about 120.
Bar #3 lights up at about 150.
I've seen almost 230 degrees with still 3 bars. Some guys in places like Arizona have seen 4 bars but don't know if any of them have "proper" temp gauges to tell you what the reading is.
