are these people trying to rip me off?
so i'm trying to install sub/ cd- changer/ amp to my car,
no fabrication, no custom job, just simple bolt- on, plug- and- play stuff,
they are asking something like $ 100 for cd- changer, $ 200 for amp, $ 200 for sub, etc...
the lowest plave i found so far is $ 150 all together with $ 50 wires.
is this normal?
how much is the fair price, you think?
i have sony head unit and boston speakers already,
and i'm trying to install sony cd changer, 2 ch. amp, and "basslink" sub/ amp combo.

Tell them that for that price...you want to sleep with their mom and sister too.
Thats trash...
Circuit City charges 75 bucks for an amp install. A shop....at least a decent one that knows what they are doing should do THE WHOLE thing for no more than 200 bucks....good luck bro....

Those prices are ridiculous. You're looking at 1/2 hour for the changer, 3/4 hour for the amp and sub wiring, 1 1/4 of hour worth of and a worse case 1 3/4. Give or take that's a $300 a hour job, where is this shop so I can put in an application

*There will at least be two sets of long RCAs - one for the changer, one for the SUB.
*IF you're installing the changer in the trunk you'll also need an extended sony bus cable (that controls the changer from the HU). This can easily cost you around $50 - make sure you ask them about this, the original wires that come with the changer are not that long and this extended sony cable is not readily available.
* You'll also need power and speaker wires.
$200 all together sounds like a very good deal to me.
This is definitely not a one hour job!!

Circut City WILL HACK UP YOUR S2000. Unless you know the installer or they put their top installer on the car(the one who makes 8 instead of 5 dollars an hour). I have seen to many hack jobs from them.
I used to work in the install industry and I have done an entire system in my car(14 hours straight).
$200 installed for a changer/amp and wires is a good deal for a decent shop. Long as they do quality work and won't scratch up/hack up your car I say
