In a manner of speaking... hardware-wise, this version solidifies some of my previous ideas on what would make the design better, as well as properly sizing it to fit into the housing without trimming. The protos were black as that's what color most of my designs are, but in this case I felt it made the housing too dark... the red makes the boards practically invisible, even when they're right up next to the lens.

The black prototype was what I did all of my software development on, though, so unless this one is faulty in some way it should work. I added in a new animation mode since you saw it.

 

So................pics/vids? What are they going to do exactly? Some kind of crazy light show for the turn signals/brakes?

Whatever it is, I'm probably going to think it's f'n awesome

 

I just coded a new animation mode today, but I haven't entered or debugged it yet.

These are only for the brake lights... a turn signal/backup light combo is next on the drawing board. I sooooo want to get rid of all incandescents on my ride

That would be so dope if you could program images/animations. Like when you have someone tailgating you, program a middle finger.... So when you hit the brakes they get the picture clearly.

 

I'm going to try and install these in my car this weekend... I'll try and get Steve to take a video.
