This finally driving me nuts enough to do something about it. I did some pretty extensive searching and I can see others have had the problem as well. Some suggest zip-tie the latch as in the following:

Others have mentioned removing the plastic I think. Are there any difinitive posts (pictures would be nice) with how to fix while keeping the trunk functional? It seems that the green plastic emergency release is what seems to be causing the problem
