Default Trying to build a JL system

I was thinking of building a JL system for my car, I already have the cda9811 from alpine as deck. Now question one
Can I buy like a 500/1 jl amp and run 2 subs from it or do I need a 2 channel amp like 300/2 to run 2 subs. Oh and also which one is a better idea in the S2K, 2 "8's" or a single 10? I dont think I want to go 12's anymore. I listen to hard rock/metal/industrial mostly but I also have couple hiphop songs mixed up in my cd's.

Ok here is the plan, how about
JL 500/1 amp
10w6v2 400 watts rms sub
XR650CSI components

After shopping a bit I can get all of them for about 950+tax.

JL 500/1 amp you could run two subs even three subs!!
You'll have to connect them in parallel!!

I would go with two 8" sub. If not go with a single 12" sub.
I try single JL 10" sub didn't like how the bass sound.
Now i have a single JL12" sub and couldn't be happier!!

I have the 10w3v2 in a Stealthbox. Just put it in and LOVE the sound. It's great. And you sacrifice NO trunk space.

I would go with the single 12W3V2D2. With the single 12" you still wire the single sub in parallel because the JL w3 sub have dual voice coil for maximum excursion!! Be aware the 12w3v2 come in three version D2, D4 and D6.
wiring option in parallel:
W3V2-D6 3ohm
W3V2-d4 2ohm
W3V2-D2 1ohm
Wiring option in series:
W3V2-D6 12ohm
W3V2-D4 8ohm
W3V2-D2 4ohm

JL Audio makes a fiberglass "stealthbox" made specifically for the S2000 and that's the speaker that it comes with. I power it with the 250/1 (that's 250w RMS) which is plenty. The JL amps are nice too because they'll output the same wattage no matter what ohm it is (within reason).
