which year s2001 had the tweeters in the door?

MY02+ all had tweeters. 2000 and 2001 did not.

2002+ have tweeters in door. 2002 and 2003 had the round pods, and 2004+ have the integrated looking mount.

2000 and 2001 had no tweeters, and only had a pathetic paper coned wizzer speaker.

If you have a s2k without the tweeters in the doors OEM, you can place the tweeters right next to the speakers. They fit nice and neatly there.

Placing the tweets in the 02+ location (high on the door) will make them brighter (louder) in the car, placing them lower in the door they wont be as bright (especially because you have to keep your legs crossed just to hear the drivers side 6.5)

I have seen them placed in the A pillar on the S before, but not too sure what the imaging is like.

Actually if you don't have the stock tweeter door panels you should install the tweeters on the A-pillers and point them towards the windshield. You'll get a better sound stage and you'll save yourself some cash.

wouldn't that make the tweeters sound extremely bright...or at least a bit on the harsh side?
