Tweeters
I dont know about you guys, but having the tweeters in a different place than the mid-bass driver causes the music to loose all cohesiveness for me.
I realize one must balance the need to have unblocked space between the ear and the tweeter, which may be impossible in the S2000 (if you had the tweeters down low with the mid-bass driver). But its a bad musical compromise that us S2000 owners have to make.
I definitely wouldnt put the tweeters any higher than necessary though....

You can do it just fine if you know how to tune a system and of course if you have tuneable equipment.
The best thing for him to do is stick a piece of scotch tape on the back of the tweeters and play with it. Just because you think you need them close doesn't mean he'll have to.
John you come across as a very negative person towards the S... why did you buy one? If NEED a good music sound stage in your cars, why on earth would you buy a convertible? Just wondering...

Bro I love my 4-wheel sports bike! I was just talking tweeter positions as per the thread. its true we dont have many choices in the S, but your brain can't really assemble the music back together when it hits your ear, so the closer the better.
John R., I agree with you on the importance of placing the tweeters close to the mids. However, you can compensate if you use an active crossover between the tweeters and mids, and use a processor with adjustable delay on each channel. The higher end Alpine head units have all of that built in, and there are some stand-alone processors available as well.
I've found that with the tweeters at the top of the doors and mids at the bottom of the doors, I need about 10dB of attenuation on the tweeters to get a balanced frequency response.
