Two-Way Radio Advice
Looking for a two-way radio for road trips and events... anyone got any suggestions. CNET doesn't seem to have reviews of the latest stuff and there are so many out there. Thanks in advance!
A set of Motorola Talkabout 5950's are really nice. Up to a 5 mile range and there's a $15 rebate on the Motorola website.

While your at it, if you need to hear with the top down you'll need a headset, the Motorla 53725 works great and is only $15 list.

Costco sells a great set of Motorola GMRS/FRS radios. To use in our car DO NOT use the headset as shown above with the top down. The boom microphone will pick up ALL of the windnoise and just tick of the person on the other end. After 3 years of driving with the things I can assure you of that problem. you want Push to Talk microphones that you have to hold up in front of your face. They don't pick up the wind like the boom mikes.
Price at Costco in Arizona was $49.99 for 2 GMRS/FRS radios, 2 PTT earbud headsets, a couple color places, charger and multiple batteries.
I looked at Costco.com and they don't have the deal there and Motorola.com is $99.99 for the set without the headsets. Costco is the best deal I have seen. Others make more powerful radios.
This the headset I am talking about:
http://commerce.motorola.com/cgi-bin/ncomm...ing=32&type=All
Bottom line, get the radio with the most wattage. That's what pushes the distance and clarity.
