Under Seat Amp
I am thinking of upgrading the audio on my MY 03.
At the moment I want to upgrade to an Alpine 9835 deck, spods with Infinity Kappa 50.5CS
and Infinity KAPPA PERFECT6.1 in the front. I dont want a sub (now or in the future).
Are there any amps that I can fit under the seats that will drive this combo? I really dont want to put an amp in the boot. Any suggestions re speakers also appreciated.

very few amps will fit under the seats...
regarding speakers, the best advice i can give you is to go listen to the speakers that you are interested in buying... those and any others you can find in your price range. speakers are critical for you in setting up your system as you best like it. without a sub, the Kappas will be very bright, and you may not like what you get.

PJK3 is right as always, very few 4-channel amps will fit under the seat. The driver seat has a little more room under it than the pasenger side. To be able to fit an amp under driver seat and the seat still can be adjusted a couple inches, its dimensions should be limited to: Lenght: 12", Width: 7", High: 2". I have a Memphis 4-channel amp 16-MC2004 with power rating of 50Wx4 @ 4 ohms, its dimensions are: 12" x 6.5" x 2". I found a shop to install my system this Wednesday, I am asking them to install the amp under driver seat. I did a placement test the amp under driver seat sideway, it barely fits but it has very little room for wiring, if the amp is installed the normal way then the seat can not be adjusted at all. I will post the result after my system is installed. Remember one thing, the front 2/3 of the seat s have about 3" clearance from the floor, the rear 1/3 of the seats have only 1.5" clearance.
I just have a little pioneer 2 channel (50Wx2) that i got at tweeter.com for 80 bucks and it helps to fill in the sound. I agree that if you want a really nice and clean system that you are going to have to spend some $$$ on all of your components but for those of us who cant afford the high end stufff this works out nicely.
