Default Unknown Switch ???

I recently bought an '08 and then discovered a mostly hidden two position rotary switch...but I don't know what it does. The switch is embedded in the bottom of the dashboard just to the right of the left kick panel. Perhaps this has been discussed before, but I didn't find it while searching. As I said, it's a two position rotary switch and, from all appearances, is original equipment. Here's a picture:

Anyone know what it does?

Thanks
Dave

Um, I think that is the panel attachment fastener. It is a 1/4 turn fastener that holds the cover panel in place.

Aha! That's what it is. Armed with your suggestion, I checked the maintenance manual and found the 1/4 turn fastener (Lock Knob "B") mentioned in the "Driver's Dashboard Lower Cover Removal/Installation" section, page 20-85. Nothing electrical about it!

Thanks!

Couldn’t that knob to release anything!
Probably with enough jiggling and twisting my panel would open but I just crawled under to get to the fuse box

There are also a bunch of clips, so apparently you need to turn the locking knob and then pull out the clips,
though I've never done this myself.
