[QUOTE=modifry,Aug 24 2005, 06:58 PM] I don't think the 9847 works.

I'm still up in the air. I just got my ordered DCI today and was thinking about installing it this weekend. Does anybody have any pictures of where the IR can/should go on a Alpine 9853 head? I am not sure how the ir emitter will work on the moving/rotating face plate. Besides looks is there any other reason to use the hard plug?

p.s. The www.modifry.com site seems to be down. Are there any pictures along these lines on there?

the reason for the plug as i'm aware... is so there is no IR in sight. I know it's small... and most people won't know it's there... but still, I would rather not have it there. and I would be more than willing to pay 8 bucks to exchange it to a new one.

Don't know why the site didn't respond, seems OK now.

There's a photo on this page that shows the IR emitter on an Alpine HU. Your IR receiver may be in a different place, and bear in mind these photos were taken with one of the early IR emitters - new ones are painted black on top.

What else would you expect, Bob, from "yahoo.com"?

Go for it. I won't see any notes with the order so you should email me direct to let me know you want the wired version. (bob@modifry.com)

Just make sure you give me enough information in your email so I can match you up with your order. I can't tell you how many times I get email from "some_silly_name@yahoo.com" asking about an order or giving me information that I can't match up with anything.

.
Sent you an email. jamesdutchatcomcastdotnet. order from zip 08028.
