upgrade ap1 HU to ap2?
Hey guys
i tried searching and came up with nothing.. i dont know if its just me but the search function is lacking..
i want to upgrade my speakers a little bit. now im not looking to go crazy but i just want it so i can acutally hear my music with teh top down. does upgrading to teh ap2 radio help much?? is it a direct swap to the ap1 harness?
anothing thing i was looking at was the lucid rear speaker system. did a search on that and seems like everyone likes it. however, how well does this speaker system run with the ap1 / ap2 deck?
thanks so much!

i cant comment on the power output of the ap1 and the ap2 headunits.
however i do know that the AP2 headunit has rear speaker capability, and is certainly an upgrade from the AP1 unit. The AP2 speakers are the semi-transpearant blue poly cones with seperate tweeters. Overall it actually sounded pretty decent for an OEM system. WORLDS better than the ap1 system. The AP1 and the AP2 use the same radio harness, you'd still have to splice into the OEM harness in order to add rear speakers.
I guess it depends on how much your willing to spend on your ap2 headunit and speakers. I sure as hell wouldnt buy it new from the dealer lol. I pulled all my OEM honda stuff out and replaced it within hours of owning the car..
As nice of an upgrade as it was from the AP1 system, Eclipse headunit and high end kicker component speakers are Worlds better than OEM.
