Most the guys who buy online are do it your selfers and theres nothing wrong with that. But, Focal gives 3 year warranty with their speakers only when bought and installed from a authorized dealer. Alpine gives a 1 year. The only authorized dealer online is Crutchfield. The rest are all grey market stuff and you never know if its B stock or even replicas.

Most the people here can install a deck and speakers, but not many know how to do it right or cleanly. We give a lifetime warranty with install, all wires are soldered and heat shrunk, speakers have custom baffles made not the Best buy plastic ones. They are MDF, coated with resin and carpeted. Crossovers are mounted and tuned properly. Plus we offer free removal. Small price to pay when you dont feel like learning how to install on your new car. When spending that much on speakers, its nice to know you can get free replacements including labor for 3 years.

I've known Jackson @ Imagine Audio for years. I didn't just go buy the system without researching for prices on the net. Jackson gave me a great deal and the price that I quoted was with the Mugen caps($97 for oil cap & $40 for the radiator cap). I guess no matter what you spend, there is always someone who will say you paid too much. Not only was the price right for me but the installation job was top notch. No matter what you guys think about the price, I'm extremely happy with the system and the quality work Jackson & Noel did @ Imagine Audio.(I guess that's all that matters)

i myself am between the cda-117 and the ida-x305 at the moment. i want the cda-117 because of the RDS feature.
The 305 is a nightmare for me. Cuts out, makes me restore my iPhone from messing with the firmware; skips as many songs as it wants. Sometimes on shuffle it gets stuck shuffling between two songs. To put it bluntly; stay the hell away.

Glad you're happy with it. I'm sure it sounds MUCH better than stock.

Sure, DIY would cut the price in half, but not everybody wants to give up the warranties and do all the work. If I were paying retail and paying for an install, that's about what I would expect OTD costs to run. It looks like the did a nice job.

That's too bad, you'd think the newer version, that is actually marketed as "works with iphone" would, you know, work with the iphone. My first gen IDA-X001, which pre-dates the release of the iPhone, works perfectly well with my 3G.

my 305 works extremely well. I'd contact alpine to see if they can replace it.

I could contact alpine and send it back. That is an extreme pain in the a$$ though, I have no head unit to use while it is gone. My head unit used to work perfectly, I think when I got the 3GS it went down hill.

For my S2000 I'll be getting a 9887 or a CDA-117.
