Default Upgraded head unit with Bluetooth!

Hey guys,

I've been meaning to upgrade my Alpine iDA-X200 for something with Bluetooth for really long time and I finally did it.

I upgraded it to Alpine UTE-52bt. It was a very simple plug n play install as I already had Alpine before with Modifry dci.

I love the fact that it has Bluetooth now! In addition, the mic that came with it is surprisingly good. I tested it out on freeway (~60mph) and the recipient could hear me very clear.

If you are debating (like I was) to upgrade head unit with a Bluetooth, don't wait. It's worth every penny! haha.

Now the bad part.

I have Alpine Type R component spr17s, and about 6 month ago, left tweeter started making static noise.

I suspect that the tweeter is blown. I checked to see if I can just replace the tweeter, but it runs around $80 and only in pairs.

Now, after a quick research, I found out that SPR17S have been discontinued.

What is my best option here? Any help would be great. I would love to save money.. hopefully find something used for less than $40.

FYI, below is my setup:

Alpine UTE-52bt
Alpine Type R 12"
Alpine Type R component spr17s
Alpine MRP M500
Alpine MRP f300
Sub box (1.0 cu.ft) in tool well
Tsunami dual amp kit

Love my Alpine CDE-143BT head unit with Modifry DCI.
Still on OEM speakers, was kind of wondering what Alpine component speakers would be a good replacement without an amp

Looking great, the blue light looks bright as hell though. I set mine to auto-dim but still very bright at night.

For the most part, I leave my radio cover closed. But the cover presses against the knob on the head unit. Do you have the same issue?

The problem with it is that, when the knob is pressed, stock radio controls next to the steering wheel doesn't work.

Do you have an Android or iPhone? I was looking at this head unit and was curious if there were any compatibility issues over BT on Android phones.

I have an iPhone, so it might not help you. But there was no compatibility issue for me. It even plays sound from YouTube or video files on web browser(Chrome).

I have the 143BT as well and the knob does not press against the door.

Where did y'all install your mics?

I pushed in the unit and held it in place with bendable metal bars attached with the head unit. That fixed the problem!

I installed my mic on top left corner

No wind noise at all (with top & windows up of course), but I noticed that people have hard time hearing me due to road noise on freeway with bad pavement.

If you find a better place to mount mic, please share!
