valentine one is a radar detector, not a cop detector.

in short, no.

Radar detectors only go off if a "police car" has its "radar" turned "on". If an officer has a hand held "radar gun", your detector will go off as well. The answer to your question is no, but I'm sure when your common sense kicked in, this answer would have come to you.

Im still shoked how many people cant seem to grasp this simple concept.... If it were a cop detector it would be called a cop detector! It is called a radar detecter because it will go off when it detects a radar detector in use period.

OP, the reason it goes off everytime you pass by the station is probably because there is at least one car there with the radar left on.... my v1 goes off when I pass most stations, because alot of them leave it on.

Are you serious?

You don't need a "guru" to answer that question. A quick visit to the Valentine Research site could have answered that question.

Even looking at the panel on the V1 could have answered that. It has indicators for various bands of radar. No indicators for "cop off duty", "cop directing traffic', "cop with doughnut", etc...
