Default Valentine One Q: Remote display

how hard is it to make something like this?

http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?V...item=1326304691

just take the thing apart and solder different colored led's?
or is it more complicated?
thanks

Yep.. you got it.. basically he swapped out the red LED's to color ones. Pretty good idea actually. I have had problems seeing what band was going off at night, color LED's would eliminate that.

I posted the same thing on audiworld...and this guy said ..

That's more than just a bunch of LEDs. There's a circuit board in there as well as the wiring to interface with the main V1 itself. You'd have to decrypt the signals from the main V1 display and understand how they get sent over the interface cable to the remote display.

Is he right on? or is he tripping? thanks

i dont think so, if you get the same LED's as the ones in there (same current draw and size) its just a swap job.
