Viper alarm owners.
I own the Viper with the smaller 2-way (lights up, but no display). The antenna is mounted on the windshield next to the rear view mirror. 1/4 mile range? A joke. Outdoors with no obstructions, maybe 80-100 yards. Indoors, in a normal wood-frame house, around 30 yards. Concrete walls? Forget it. And FWIW, the battery life on the remote is pathetic.
80-100 sounds likes somethings wrong. Get a new antenna for the car and have them check all the grounds. I work at an audio shop and everyone weve done has much farther range than that.
If you want range get the Compustar unit with spread spectrom technology, 6000ft.

My Viper 5000 came with 2 fobs, one with the LCD and just a regular one.
In my room if I cover the LCD fob with my hand it will not transmit the signal, but if I use the regular one it does.
Could this be a bad responder?
