Where is your crossover?
I put my crossover in the little black box
on the door panel; however a diode came loose on just the first day out (I resodered it already). Is this gonna be a constant problem from closing the door or you think it was just a faulty diode? (polk db6500)

I have the db6500's as well... I mounted the crossovers inside the hollow black plastic areas near the back of the door panels.
I used double-sided tape and screws... I had to remove the panels after the first couple of days to basically just re-adjust everything... but since then they've been solid.

I put mine in the trunk. I wasn't to fond of the idea of them being in the doors if I ever wanted to tweak them, and I didn't like the idea of rattling them around everytime a door was shut.

That is what has me concerned

All I did was put double-sided tape on the back of them to cut down on vibrations and noise (if any), and then took two small screws and screwed them in place with the two holes already in the crossovers for such a purpose.
It works just fine... the only small issue I have is that the speaker wire provided with the polk speakers is just a touch too short to allow me to sit the door panel on the ground when working on it, so I have to put something under my door to rest it on.
Sorry to jack your thread.
For those who have the Polk DB6500's how do you like them? Did you have to use spacers to clear the windows?
Did you use the existing tweeter holes to mount the new ones? What if any mods did you have to do to the tweeters fit?
